Robert O. Bonow, MD, MS
is the Goldberg Distinguished Professor of Cardiology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, he is vice chairman of the Department of Medicine. He received his MD degree the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He served as Senior Investigator in the Cardiology Branch of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute 1976 to 1992, and was Chief of the Division of Cardiology at Northwestern University 1992 to 2011. He has authored or co-authored over 550 papers in the medical literature and 115 book chapters. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of JAMA Cardiology and is one of the four editors of Braunwald’s Heart Disease: A Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Bonow is a past president of the American Heart Association, a Master of the American College of Cardiology and a Master of the American College of Physicians.
